The 2012 UEFA Super Cup was a final contested by the winners of the Champions League and the Europa League in the 2011-12 season. It was contested by Chelsea and Atletico Madrid. Atletico took the lead early on through Falcao who proceeded to score a hat-trick in the first half. Miranda added to Chelsea's worries, before Gary Cahill netted a consolation goal with just a quarter of the match remaining.
