Demba Ba (born 25 May 1985) is a Senegalese international footballer who played for Chelsea F.C. from 2013 to 2014.

Chelsea careerEdit

On 2 January 2013, Newcastle announced that Chelsea had matched Ba's buyout clause of £7,000,000. Two days later, Chelsea confirm that Ba had signed a three-year contract at the club. He was given the number 29 shirt and became the first Senegalese player to play for Chelsea. Upon arriving, he told the Chelsea website: "It feels good to be here, I'm very happy and very proud."

Ba made his debut on 5 January 2013 and scored a brace in the 5-1 FA Cup victory over Southampton. Less than two weeks later, Ba once again netted against Southampton, this time in a 2-2 draw in the Premier League. Ba then went seven games without a goal, before finally breaking his duck, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 victory over West Brom. On 1 April 2013, Ba scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Manchester United, to send Chelsea into the FA Cup semi-final. Two weeks later, Ba netted Chelsea's only goal in the semi-final defeat to Manchester City.

On 6 November 2013, Ba scored his first goal of the 2013-14 season, scoring Chelsea's third in a 3-0 win over Schalke. Just under a month later, Ba netted his first league goal of the season, rounding off a 3-1 win over Southampton.

On 16 July 2014, Ba joined Besiktas J.K. for £8 million.
